Hide-A-Hose offers two types of hoses: Rapid Flex and Smart Soc. Rapid Flex Hoses are made of a scratch resistant material, and since there’s no sock, they have a larger diameter, which means the Rapid Flex hose has up to 30% better airflow. They also perform better when retracting into the wall, especially when you start using longer hoses or have pipe runs with more turns. In other words, it ...

      For carpet you can use many different types of turbine powered carpet heads and for best results you can get the battery powered carpet heads they offer.

      I had a central vac for 8 yrs in my previous house. The house was 20 yr old which had the central vac built in during construction. It was the kind where we had to carry the hose from outlet to outlet. I loved the system, never needed any maintenance, no issues ever. There are more maintenance issues in handheld vacuums than central vacs. I would highly recommend central vac over any handheld vacuum anytime!

      FOD? Not so.. I had one I'm our old home. It's basically an industrial vacuum in you house that lasts a life time. You can't compare the suction of a top of the line shop vac. They work! And really don't maintenance. Other than the sound of the suction they are silent on the user end

      You would need to add additional pipe runs with our sweep fittings in order to store the hose. Available attic or crawl space can be used to add these pipe runs, which could then be connected to your existing system.

      You get a central vacuum unit installed somewhere in your house, usually in the garage, that stores all the dirt. They'll have either a canister you take out or have a bag you throw out and replace.

    • @MylesV
      @MylesV 7 років тому

      You'll spend $800-$1500 on a very good vacuum anyways. Spend a few hundred while building a new house to add a central vacuum, they have so many benefits. They even add to the resale value of your home.

    • @WJCTechyman
      @WJCTechyman 5 років тому

      @Skiatook Scott Simple, buy a Miele or a Henry. Quiet, excellent filtration, and on the Miele, option for power nozzles, and spending half the amount on electricity each month than with a central canister. A lot of portable canister machines can have the option of up to 30 ft hoses to boot.

    • @waynehalliday1723
      @waynehalliday1723 5 років тому

      When a completely uneducated person on the topic makes a random uninformed comment. Better suction, better cleaning, healthier for home occupants, lasts upwards of 20 to 30 years with minimal maintenance...I could go on and on. You could spend thousands on a good car, or buy a heap of junk for $500 is basically your argument.

    • @waynehalliday1723
      @waynehalliday1723 5 років тому

      @@WJCTechyman absolute rubbish sorry! As a vacuum supplier, repairer and installer I can tell you a Miele or any other portable vacuum spews dust and allergens straight through their filters, which gets worse over time. The power usage argument is exaggerated, there is very little difference. A portable is far from quite, not even close to running central. A portable with a 30ft hose, wow now you are just talking shit. Storing it where? .....dragging it around the house. Pleaseeeeeee!
